first "photograph"

I took this photo of my little sister before school one morning using my dad's vintage pentax. I took my first roll of film very seriously, and was devastated when the kmart processing lab put my b&w through color processing, giving it that sepia look. I was 11 or 12. The curlers in her hair were a regular thing--my mom did it for both of us several times a week. (The right side of her hairdo is done.) I love her pajama top and her funky youthful teeth.

Rasputin's (Supposed) Penis in a Jar

My Friend Luke...

is so awesome. He is one of the few true writers and artists I've met out in the big bad world. Even with a full time job he produces more work in a week than I do in a month. This month he and Jenn Brothers, an amazing gal and amazing Kansas City and Lawrence-based photographer are getting married, and I'm telling you, they are a couple to reckon with--both in matters of art and love.
